How long have you been homebrewing?

Almost 9 years, coming up on our 240th batch.

What is your favorite beer style to make? 

That’s tough, but Chocolate Stout and Helles Bock are up there.

Are you a member of any brew clubs or organizations? 

Not yet, may join one in 2020

Have you won any medals or awards? 

No, I haven’t entered any competitions

Describe your brewing system or equipment.

We use a Coldbreak 10 gallon pot to boil, plastic primary fermenters and glass carboys for secondary, and a variety of bottles and bottling equipment.

What piece of equipment or brewing process has made the most difference in your beer? 

Patience, I think, has made the most improvement in my beer’s flavor.  I don’t think anything can replace Patience.

What other fermented beverages have you made? 

We grow wine grapes in our yard and make Chateau De Nile wines as nature permits!

What other hobbies and interests do you have?

 Hiking, gardening, music.  We also raise rabbits for fertilizer and chickens for their eggs and fertilizer.  And comedy.

Is there anything else that you would like to share about yourself? 

We grow some hops too, have tried a few types and settled on the ones that grow best at our place – Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade.  We also have one Fuggles, but it Struggles!  June has to be wet for it to produce good hops.  We also have peach trees and a separate herb garden – we enjoy making all kinds of stuff.
