The brewery was Aurora, Colorado’s first when owners Kevin DeLange and Michelle Reding opened with a 7 BBL brewhouse in a 900-square-foot space in 2005.
How long have you been brewing? Just under 20 months. I’ve made three extract, and seventeen all-grain batches so far.
What is your favorite beer style to make? Porters and Stouts, then Belgian styles, and then IPAs.
Describe your brewing system or equipment. I have a three vessel, stainless steel system on a wooden brewing cart that I made. I have a combination of Ss Brewtech, Blichmann and Anvil gear. I’m still using propane, but I plan on going electric in the future.
What piece of equipment has made the most difference in your beer? My 14 gallon Ss Brewtech Brewmaster Edition Chronical fermenter has given me much more control over fermentation conditions and temperatures.
Do you have any other hobbies or special interests? I’ve been entering a lot of local and regional homebrew competitions, and I’ve managed to win three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze during the last six months. I like to play World of Tanks (maybe because I was an M60A1 tank commander in the Marines).
