The brewery was Aurora, Colorado’s first when owners Kevin DeLange and Michelle Reding opened with a 7 BBL brewhouse in a 900-square-foot space in 2005.

How long have you been homebrewing/winemaking? 8 years
What are your favorite styles to make? I mostly brew braggot and build styles on top of that. I like combining styles and adding unconventional ingredients (Highlights include: Oaked Apple Belgian-Style Gold, Mushroom California Common, and the Lemon-Lime Kombucha Gose/IPA with Himalayan Pink Salt).
Are you a member of any brew clubs or organizations? Nope. Never been a member of a club.
Have you won any medals or awards? I don’t enter a lot of competitions, though I did win bronze at the Brew Hut annual competition with my very first braggot recipe. Due to my aforementioned tendency to combine styles, my most common note on scoresheets is “Wrong Category”.
Describe your brewing system or equipment (Provide a picture if possible) My brew system is pretty basic. I have a Digiboil that I use as my kettle and one of those modified water coolers with a false bottom that I use as a mash tun. I built my own chiller system using copper tubing, surgical tubing, a pond pump, and a cooler. I ferment in 6-gallon glass carboys because I like to watch all the bubbles. Contrary to what some people might say, you don’t need a crazy expensive setup to make good beer.
What piece of equipment or brewing process has made the most difference in your beer and/or wine? My Digiboil was a game-changer for me. Up until the beginning of this year, I was using a stockpot on the stove. Now I can brew outside with a good book and not take over the whole kitchen for hours at a time.
What other fermented beverages have you made? I also make mead (all different kinds), cider, and I brew a weekly gallon batch of jun kombucha.
List of any other hobbies or interests. I love a good beer hike and like to experiment with applying beer brewing techniques to coffee which is rapidly turning me into a coffee snob.
