The brewery was Aurora, Colorado’s first when owners Kevin DeLange and Michelle Reding opened with a 7 BBL brewhouse in a 900-square-foot space in 2005.
How long have you been homebrewing?
I have been brewing for about 12 years.
What is your favorite beer style to make?
I prefer ales, as I do not have lager area yet.
Are you a member of any brew clubs or organizations?
I belong to the Mile High Monks of Denver.
Have you won any medals or awards?
No awards or medals yet. I am still working on a favorite batch for now.
Describe your brewing system or equipment.
I garage brew and my fermentation is set up in my basement where I have 3 CO2 taps and 2 Nitro taps.
What piece of equipment or brewing process has made the most difference in your beer?
I believe that the best piece of equipment are my friends, their inspirations and ideas are the difference in my brewing. They all get to experiment with me.
What other fermented beverages have you made?
I also make a very good vanilla honey mead, traditional Irish type.
What other hobbies and interests do you have?
I’m also a scuba diver and getting close to having my master dive certification. I also like photography as I have a degree in commercial photography.
Is there anything else that you would like to share about yourself?
I have a very unique system as most of it is handmade. It includes: fermentation racks, 3 CO2 taps, grain mill, and nitro kegerator.
